A woman called Melanie from the heritage council came in to talk to us about straw and work with us using straw she told us about the history of straw and how it was first used to make beer way before it was eaten then we put on a little play and I was a straw boy and had to wear a big floppy mask made out of straw also Melanie brought in a bunch of straw items like dolls and lots of other different things then we got to make a four plait and some people got to do the five plait[it was very tricky] then Melanie went home to Co.Clare
